It has been a while since I have posted, 4 long months to be exact. But, rest assured, plenty has been going on at Casa Laura. :)

In this Before & After post, I'll show before and after shots of the powder room (half bath on the main level).
Lesson # 1: It is really hard to get good pictures of a powder room.
Lesson # 2: It really is ok to use lavender in the smallest room in the house. :)
Before
This is actually a pretty good powder room. It has a decent-sized sink area and mirror. It was basically all white with a laminate "hard wood" floor, so a fairly blank slate to start from.
After
For some reason, I just really wanted to have a lavender room in the house, don't ask me why. I loved the wisteria blossoms on the rare occasion they bloomed, and found a clay bowl at a charity event that I used as my inspiration. Someone, ahem, Mom, didn't think lavender was an appropriate paint color. And, I admit, it can be tricky. But, I think this has worked. I used Behr Naturally Calm (620E-2), a light, inoffensive lavender in a semi-gloss, and white accents. I replaced the standard issue mirror with a large mirror with clean, white frame, added a vintage white medicine cabinet, and kept the brushed nickel hardware. A few more accessories and, voila! Here are the best photos I could get.
